Introduction
I am a pulmonologist. I have a special interest in the treatment of lung cancer. I moved to Spain in 2001 with my family.
Special interest
My interest in lung cancer developed during my training as a pulmonologist. I find it a rewarding and challenging task to offer medical help to these patients.
The pulmonologist diagnoses and treats lung diseases. But because the breathing system is closely related to the other organs (e.g. heart, veins and liver), knowledge of internal medicine and cardiology is essential. Therefore a pulmonologist also receives intensive training in internal medicine and cardiology, and of course, good cooperation with these specialisations remains indispensable throughout their working life.
